March Steak Club
March Steak Club features beef from the Raby Estate in County Durham.
It has grazed for two summers on the estate's rich grasslands. The Raby Estate is famous for it's Longhorn Cattle, with the herd first established in the early 1970's, and we have a prime example of one for you.
Longhorns originated in the north of England and are perfectly suited to that environment. Famous for their flavoursome beef and imposing downward curving horns, Longhorns make for fantastic eating.
We've also managed to take a White Galloway from the estate too. These handsome and distinctive looking animals, with their fluffy white coats, black ears and black noses are thought to be descendants of the ancient Wild White. What we know for sure is that they produce fantastic meat, rich in omega three and extremely tender.
The selection of steaks we have here of two ancient breeds, from a single estate, farmed using traditional methods, and then aged on the bone for six weeks offer some of the finest examples of British beef. This is what Provenance is all about - celebrating where our food has come from and championing traditional breeds and methods.
